Zanskar is considered by India as a sensitive area. Detailed topographical
maps of this region are thus not avaible to non-Indian officials.
For this reason, our geological map is essentially based on satellite
imagery. We used both panchromatic Spot images with a ground resolution
of 10m and Landsat images with a ground resolution of 80m. Other
